This great site is being spoiled by ignorant stupid people who probably have never been to this lovely resort. If you are reading this and you are the culprits remove this crap and get yourselves a life.If you need to put this dross on internet there are plenty of sites available so leave us to our own world and respect the memory of Clive Manson

Hi All, My name is Paul Burton, and I am currently working with Gary Morecambe on a new book about his late father, Eric Morecambe. We would love to hear from people who lived in, worked at or visited Great Yarmouth and recall meeting Morecambe & Wise. Any recollections and photos you have of this and/or of the shows they appeared in at the ABC Theatre, Britannia Theatre and/or Wellington Pier Theatre would be much appreciated! Your photos or recollections might even end up being included in our new book which is set to be published in 2012! To contact us, please email: paulburton73@hotmail.co.uk. We look forward to hearing from you very soon! Thank you, Best wishes, Paul Burton

I was born in Great Yarmouth in September 1963. St Nicholas Hospital, on\near King Street. I think it is now a block of apartments. My parents Nora and Ken Ford had a shop on Regent Road right next door to the Wax Works. I had a friend called David Mann whose parents were friendly with my parents. Mollie and Tedd Mann owned the kipper shop on regent road, and the ‘monkey shop’ next door. Mollie ran the kipper shop, sending boxes all over the world, whilst Tedd used to take pictures of people with spider monkeys (dressed in clothes) on their shoulders. David and I used to dress the monkeys in the morning, they had little shorts, jumpers, hats e.t.c. We now have a home in Florida as well as Salford, but given the choice of a week in Florida or a week in Great Yarmouth, you know what I would choose;-)

Ted linzey and myself are trying to locate anyone who served or had connection with RAF HOPTON Radar Station around the period 1950--1952 We have been given the impression that a Cpl Gorden Scot and an LAC Miller ( Known as Glenn or Dusty ) stayed in the area after their demobilisation The latter may have worked on Eastern Counties or for some other Bus Company in Yarmouth. There were many of the station personell who were living locally in Yarmouth Gorleston and the Lowestoft and many more who had Girl friends and became engaged during that time Usually having met at THE FLORAL HALL . For us that served at Hopton it is certainly a most memorable time --- THE HALCYON days and our appreciation of the Local Populace and their Hospitability and Friendly attitude towards us was second to none We would appreciate any information anyone who can no matter what source Email----- Mgr14132@aol.com Linzeyted@aol.com Malcolm Raynor Ted Linzey

My suggestion would be a section specifcally for the Armed Forces I appreciate there is a number of WW11 but apart from basically damage to the Town etc.In the Area there was The RAF the Army and Navy Through the years in the area. The Raf had Radar Stations at Winterton Happisburg And Hopton on Sea with the Air sea rescue at Goleston Plus AA batteries etc and the Navy connection goes further back in time

I have just gone through all the photos of the Pleasure Beach and they have bought back some wonderful memories of the years I spent working on it. I mainly worked on the roller coaster with some great local lads.I can also remember going to Olympia , London with some of the rides and meeting up with Bertram Mills circus. We were there over the christmas season. Also had great time up at Skegness when Albert ( the guvnor ) Botton bought one of Butlins old fun fairs which we ripped down and replaced it with a german style beer garden and updated the fun fair.Clive Manson has left some great memories of a good part in my life and may he rest in peace, thank you Clive.
